Why copies usually break

A naive save leaves links and assets pointing back at the source, so the copy breaks offline. LayerPort rewrites those references so the captured site stands on its own.

Edit, optimize, deliver

Adjust content in the visual editor, optimize images, then export a ZIP for any static host. Version history keeps every state recoverable.

LCP — largest contentful paint: 2.5 s or less — Usually an image; check the one the capture serves
INP — interaction to next paint: 200 ms or less — Replaced FID in March 2024
CLS — cumulative layout shift: 0.1 or less — Fonts and unsized images are the usual cause

Google's thresholds for a good experience, at the 75th percentile of real visits. A capture that localizes assets usually improves the first two, because the platform's runtime is no longer in front of the paint — but it is worth measuring rather than assuming.

Why does my saved website break offline?

Because links and assets still point at the original server. LayerPort rewrites them to local paths so the capture works on its own.

Can I optimize the images?

Yes. Images can be converted to WebP or AVIF during the process.
